I am a fan of when a Las Vegas local actually is able to become famous, partially because I can brag that they are from my home town, but mostly because it really goes to show the wealth of talent that we have in this city. I mean look at who has come out of this town: NL MVP Bryce Harper, NASCAR drivers Kurt and Kyle Busch,as well as recording artist Ne-Yo.
This is why I was so excited to talk with Lisa Marie Smith. She is a true Las Vegas native, being a graduate of Las Vegas Academy, and is quickly becoming a well known name in Las Vegas. Not only has she previously stared in “Pin Up” at the Stratosphere, but now she is sharing her talents in the role of Satie in the new show “BAZ – Star Crossed Love” at the Palazzo.
I will not lie to you, I was unfamiliar with BAZ before talking with Smith, the only thing I knew about it was how it is described on Pallazo.com:
“Set in a modern and intimate cabaret, BAZ – Star Crossed Love is a celebration, a mash-up of music, and moments from the greatest love stories imagined by famed director Baz Luhrmann.”
Inspired by Baz’s most romantic films, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and The Great Gatsby, the show will captivate with soul-stirring music and stunning performances from an ensemble cast of vocalists, actors, and dancers.”
But after spending a few minutes talking with Smith and learning that the way this show is able to twist some of the greatest stories of all time together in a way that reminded me of one of my favorite shows “Once Upon A Time” I am really excited to go check it out for myself.
But look I know that you can just go by what I have to say, however, after listening to my interview with Lisa Marie Smith, i’m pretty sure you will be convinced too.
