§ A dog died on Monday night after a United Airlines flight attendant forced the dog into an overhead bin.
§ The passenger was on a flight from Houston to New York and during the flight an attendant insisted that the woman put her dog, which was held in a TSA-approved pet carrier, in an overhead bin for the rest of the flight.
§ Passengers heard barking during the flight but didn’t learn the dog had died until they landed.
§ United Airlines says they take responsibility and that it was a “tragic accident” that shouldn’t have happened.
§ They also gave condolences to the family and said they would investigate the incident.
§ Study shows that moms make less money.
§ You’ve heard of the gender pay gap and now we find that there is a mom pay gap.
§ Moms with one child make 15% less than women who don’t have kids.
§ Mothers with two kids make 13% less, while moms with three or more kids make 20% less.
§ Researchers say that there is no reason for moms to indicate that they are moms when looking for a job.
§ Other research shows that men make more money as they have kids.
§ Groups of students in the Clark County School District are planning to walk out of class today in a demonstration for more strict gun control laws following the mass shooting in Florida last month.
§ CCSD says the District supports students working with their school administrators to achieve a result that works for everyone.
§ A CCSD memo sent to parents said officials are encouraging students to seek other avenues to speak up. The memo said students who don’t show up to class without preapproval could be marked tardy an unexcused.
§ Many schools in the valley have organized their own walkouts including Desert Oasis, Clark, Northwest and West Tech. The students plan to return to class after 17 minutes has passed, one minute for each of the Parkland victims.
§ Today, March 14th, is Pi Day, an annual celebration of the mathematical constant pi, which is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.
§ The trillion-digit ratio is rounded to 3.14.
