Growing up between the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas, Jocelyn grew up loving a diverse range of music and voices on the radio. Never did she think she’d end up working with a show and station she grew up listening to every morning on her way to school.
Jocelyn got her start in radio while attending UNLV with a student run hip hop show she hosted alongside her two best friends– Ill Vibe Theory. Starting on UNLV’s student station The Rebel HD2, for 3 years she got hands on experience pushing the buttons on a board, talking on air and working with audio. From there her station managers recommended her for a new and exciting internship with the Mercedes in the Morning Show on Mix 94.1.
Getting her foot in the door at CBS Radio as the very first intern on Mercedes in the Morning, she worked her way up to being on-air during the weekend and eventually gaining a permanent position as a producer for morning show.
She credits her love of A Tribe Called Quest for leading her to pursue her studies and eventually a career path as a broadcaster.
Jocelyn enjoys old school hip hop and R&B, coffee, going to concerts, Muay Thai kickboxing (growing up surrounded by the Vegas fight community), sneakers and the beach.
Catch her on Mercedes in the Morning Monday through Friday from 5:30-10:00am, running around Mix 94.1 station events and occasionally on-air during the weekend.
JC interviewed Ghost Adventures’ Zak Bagans about his upcoming documentary on the “Demon House”. As a gift from Zak, he brought Mercedes a jar of dirt from said house… and all hell broke lose in studio.
This week, Mercedes, JC and Jocelyn talked about Cross Fit, Muay Thai and the LAS VEGAS LEGEND– Master One Kick Nick.
