    • The late Lakers star will be honored at the 2020 Oscars.
    • Whether Bryant will simply be a part of the in memoriam segment of the ceremony or if he will get his own tribute is still unknown.
    • Although he is best known for his iconic NBA career, he is also an Oscar winner.
    • He won the Best Animated Shot Oscar in 2018 for his autobiographical short “Dear Basketball,” which he wrote to pay homage to his love for the game after retiring after 20 years in the NBA.
    • The ceremony happens on February 9th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

    • Study: Being overweight benefits men more in their careers, but not women.
    • Larger weight among men is associated with perceived credibility.
    • They were also viewed as more persuasive, while lightweight men were described with terms like “weak,” “pushover,” and “unqualified.”
    • Among women, being overweight had opposite results ….heavier set women were perceived as less persuasive.

    • They said that they will evaluate next steps through a lens of sensitivity to those impacted by the tragedy.
    • The spot was set to air during the Super Bowl but out of respect for the tragedy, Planters has paused the ad campaign.
    • Last week we told you about the Planters ad campaign that showed Mr. Peanut’s violent passing.
    • The untimely death of Bryant, his daughter and seven others has derailed the spoofed death of Mr. Peanut.



  • An Atari-themed hotel is planned for Las Vegas.
  • True North Studio and GSD Group are developing Atari-branded hotels in eight cities, including Las Vegas.
  • The hotels will feature “common areas following the latest trends in hospitality, with a focus on the video game universe and Atari brand.”
  • They will have an eSport studio, an Atari gaming playground, meeting and event rooms, co-working spaces, restaurants, bars, a bakery, movie theater and a gym.
  • They’re planning to break ground this year on the first hotel in Phoenix.
  • In addition to Las Vegas, Atari plans to open hotels in Austin, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle.
