§     According to the Farmers’ Almanac, this winter will be filled with so many ups and downs on the thermometer, they’re naming it the Polar Coaster.

§     It predicts 16 months of weather forecasts for seven zones across the US and Canada.

§     It says that the worst of the bitterly cold winter conditions will affect areas east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians.

§     Nevada is predicted to be cool with near-normal precipitation but the coldest outbreak of the season should arrive during the final week of January and last through the beginning of February.



§     Survey: Participation in high school sports registered its first decline in 30 years.

§     Football and basketball took the biggest hits.

§     Much of the reduction in participation is due to concerns about the risk of injury.

§     There were a couple of sports that saw an increase in participation including track and field, wrestling and girls volleyball.



§     The show is making some cast changes ahead of its 45th season.

§     Leslie Jones is ending her five year run to focus on other ongoing projects, including a Netflix special.

§     She’s also in the upcoming “Coming to America” sequel.

§     Alec Baldwin will no longer guest star as Donald Trump as he says it just crushes his weekends and he wants to spend more time with his kids.

§     But good news…Kate McKinnon signed a deal to return for the upcoming season.



§     Their new chicken sandwich was such a huge hit that it has officially sold out after just two weeks.

§     The company released a statement saying that “extraordinary demand” for the sandwich “far exceeded” their expectations.

§     They said they are working with suppliers to bring the new sandwich back as soon as possible.

§     They’re encouraging fans to download the Popeyes app and sign up for notifications to be among the first to know when the sandwich will be back.
