Daughtry Talks New Album, Nikes and Halloween in the Underground Lounge

Chris Daughtry Delights Mix Fans

October 9, 2018

Ask Chris Daughtry a simple question about his new album...but be careful how you phrase that question.

Daughtry was his always witty self when he stopped by the Mix 94.1 studios for an appearance in the Underground Lounge. Heather Collins asked what was different about the former "American Idol" favorite's newest album "Cage to Rattle."

Without missing a beat, Daughtry slyly replied with a grin, "New songs."

He had more to say, of course, including how he reached out to Nike for some Daughtry signature sneaks when he realized a new pair of the company's Epic Reacts were an exact match for the color scheme of his new album cover.

Hey @nike I was SO HAPPY to find these Epic Reacts in the SAME COLORS of our new album #CagetoRattle Official @daughtry sneaker?-- #epicreact #nike

Daughtry also talked writing songs with his daughter and what his 7-year-old twins Adalynn and Noah had planned for Halloween. Of course, the band fired up to play a few Daughtry hits as well, including "Cage" tracks "Backbone and "Deep End" as well as his breakout hit "Home."

So should we go with Grim Reaper...or Graham Creeper?  You be the judge! Watch the complete interview now -- and keep listening to win tickets to future Underground Lounge appearances by top Mix artists!
