Roy Horn Passes Away At Age 75

Legendary entertainer Roy Horn, who partnered with Siegfried Fischbacher, to dazzle audiences with their brilliant magic shows for decades, passed away Friday at age 75.   In a statement from his publicist, Horn died due to complications from coronavirus.  He was undergoing treatment at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, prior to his death.  Tributes from around the world have been flooding social media.

The magic act of Siegfried & Roy began performing in Las Vegas in 1967.  They began a 14-year-run - complete with their patented white tigers - at The Mirage in 1989.  Roy was mauled by one of the tigers in October 2013.   The attack left Roy partially paralyzed, and the duo ended their shows.  Their last appearance on stage came in a charity event in 2009, raising millions of dollars.

"Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend," Fischbacher said. "From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried."

Roy tested positive last month for COVID-19.
